No call-out fee.
No charge for quotes.
Most gate and garage door issues (torn cable, misaligned tracks, damaged rollers, broken springs, etc.) I can identify visually and quote on the spot, no charge.
Diagnostics come into play mainly on the electrical side, where further investigation is required to find the fault:
Testing the control board, sensors, and safety beams
Checking wiring and connections for faults
Testing the motor's electrical components
Running the system through its full cycle to isolate intermittent faults
When this level of investigation is needed, I charge a $120 diagnostic fee (GST inclusive), which covers up to 40 minutes of labour. If the problem turns out to be something I can fix within that time, the fee covers the repair as well - you're not paying twice.
You'll always know upfront whether your issue needs diagnostics before I start.
